Our Founding Story:
On November 20, 2020, in Round Rock, Texas, a vision for transformative sisterhood became reality with the establishment of Xi Delta Nu Sorority Incorporated. Founded by visionary leader Ayanna 'Xtra' Lopez, our organization emerged from a deep commitment to create an innovative community where women of diverse backgrounds could unite in purpose, support one another's growth, and collectively impact the world around them.
Xi Delta Nu Sorority Inc. stands as more than just a sisterhood—we are a movement dedicated to service, empowerment, and meaningful change. Our founder recognized the need for an organization that would not only foster deep bonds between women but also channel that connection into powerful community action. Through this vision, Xi Delta Nu was born as a space where strength meets purpose, and individual excellence contributes to collective impact.
Our organization is built upon the foundational pillars of service, love, and unity—values that guide every initiative, every interaction, and every decision we make. We are steadfastly committed to improving the lives of our members through mentorship, personal development, and educational opportunities, while simultaneously enriching the communities we serve through targeted outreach, advocacy, and sustainable programming.
From our founding in Texas, our influence has expanded nationwide, spreading a powerful message of unity and empowerment that resonates across diverse communities. Xi Delta Nu inspires women to embrace their leadership potential, pursue excellence in all endeavors, and create lasting positive change in their spheres of influence.
Through our unwavering dedication to service and the sacred bonds of sisterhood, we continue to build a legacy that transcends time—one that empowers current members while paving the way for future generations of phenomenal women to lead, serve, and make an everlasting impact on the world.
Our Mission
To build, uplift, and excel as an ensemble to pour back into our community to develop a thriving village
Our Philanthropy
The Phenomenal Women of Xi Delta Nu have taken a stance in support of
Womanism
Womanism is a social and political framework created by Alice Walker that centers the experiences of Black women and women of color, addressing the intersection of racism, sexism, and classism while committing to the liberation and wellbeing of entire communities. Unlike traditional feminism, womanism recognizes that women of color face unique challenges that require distinct approaches and solutions. Womanism provides a more inclusive and comprehensive understanding of oppression that doesn't force women of color to choose between fighting racism or sexism, but instead addresses both simultaneously while honoring our full humanity and cultural experiences.
Advocate for the wholeness and well-being by:
Resisting Trivialization - We affirm that our experiences, concerns, and perspectives are valid and meaningful. We reject the dismissal of our truths as inconsequential or isolated incidents.
Resisting Minimization - We stand firm in our belief that we will NOT diminish our abilities, voices, or mindsets in order to assert our positions and beliefs.
Resisting Respectability Politics - We are parting ways with ideologies rooted in misogyny. We deserve to experience peace, joy, and freedom in the livelihood we choose.
The Fight Against Social Injustice
The Phenomenal Women of Xi Delta Nu take an unwavering stance against racism in all its forms. We acknowledge that systemic racism is a documented reality, and we maintain absolute zero tolerance for oppression of any kind.
We are committing our time, resources, and efforts to actively combat corrupt justice systems, modern forms of enslavement, and the deliberate disenfranchisement of Black and brown communities. While we support the wellbeing of all people and believe in unity and inclusion, we refuse to ignore or minimize the specific demographics who are systematically targeted and harmed by this nation's institutions.
This is not a debate. These are facts that demand action, not discussion.
We have taken a sacred vow to remain steadfast in supporting those who need us most. We will continue to fight this necessary fight, and we expect our community to join us in this work or step aside while we do it. Silence and inaction in the face of injustice are forms of complicity that we will not accept or enable.
Mental Health Awareness
The Phenomenal Women of Xi Delta Nu Delta recognize the vital importance of mental wellness for everyone. We define mental health as 'a person's condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being.' At Xi Delta Nu, we actively support activities and organizations that promote mental wellness practices, while organizing our own initiatives focused on positive body image, mindfulness, and self-care.
